Located just north of downtown San Antonio, the city of Alamo Heights is a unique town rich with over 100 years of history. Early settlers like George Washington Brackenridge and Charles Anderson came to the area in the mid-1800s. These settlers wanted to preserve the beauty they discovered by building the city around the hills, trees, and waters. In the early 1900s, more homes and modern transportation began to make its way into the city. Alamo Heights became a municipality in 1922 with approximately 3,000 residents. Today, Alamo Heights has a population of 8,967 and is referred to as a “close-knit community” filled with architectural charm.
